Coleman-Mach has been making RV air conditioners for a LONG time and their product listings are robust. This can sometimes make it difficult to figure out which model works best for your application.

The team at RVACGuys.com break this down in a few simple questions:

  1. “What’s your top priority?”

    • General reliability & performance → Signature Series

    • Quieter interior → Quiet Series

    • Lower power draw / 30A safety → PowerSaver Series

    • Off-road or industrial abuse → Roughneck Series

    • Gentle startup on small power systems → Soft Start Series

    • No rooftop unit / central AC → Underbunk Series

  2. “What size and profile do you need?”

    • 11K / 13.5K / 15K BTU based on rig size & climate

    • Standard vs low vs ultra-low profile

  3. “Ducted or non-ducted?”

    • Larger, multi-room rigs → usually ducted

    • Smaller rigs → often non-ducted/NDQ

Choosing the right RV washer and dryer comes down to space, usage, and installation needs. Larger coaches often have room for a stacked washer and dryer for higher capacity and faster drying, while compact RVs benefit from an all-in-one combo unit that saves space and eliminates load transfers. Some travelers opt for portable units, while others prefer built-in appliances designed for permanent installation. Regardless of the setup, reliability, efficient use of power and water, and long-term serviceability are critical—making RV-specific solutions like Splendide® the most dependable option for life on the road.

Magic Chef units are budget-friendly but aren’t built specifically for RV use and can be difficult to support long-term.

Pinnacle combo units offer modern features, but parts availability and service consistency can be hit-or-miss.

Splendide®, on the other hand, is designed specifically for RVs, has decades of proven reliability, and offers strong parts and service support across North America. That’s why, when reliability and long-term ownership matter, Splendide® is the clear best choice for RV laundry.

RV Refrigeration

Reliable Cooling for Life on the Road.

A reliable refrigerator is one of the most important systems in any RV, whether you're weekend camping or living on the road full-time. RV refrigeration has unique demands—uneven campsites, constant movement, hot weather, off-grid power limitations—and only a few manufacturers consistently rise to the challenge. That’s why Norcold and Dometic have become the two most trusted names in RV refrigeration. Together, they basically the vast majority of the market share in this category but that is not the only important thing to look at.

For decades, these brands have engineered refrigerators specifically built for mobile living. Their designs handle vibration, fluctuating temperatures, and limited electrical resources far better than residential appliances. From compact units for vans and small travel trailers to full-size 12V or absorption fridges for motorhomes and fifth wheels, both companies offer proven reliability across the board.

While that's all positive, we rate both company's customer service as poor which is why we also want to introduce a new player in this space, Furrion. They may not be as well known but their quality speaks for itself and the customer support is typically better than both Norcold and Dometic.

BEST brands in the industry.

Most brands in the industry do not sell to the public, as they honor the distribution network of dealerships and service centers. Warranty info still needs to go through the manufacturer or third party extended warranty company you got it through. For parts, we recommend buying from stores that actually know the brands they sell and can provide you with technical advice since these major brands can be difficult to deal with one on one, often pushing you to a service center for advice. The RV Fridge Guys store is one of the only online retailers in the industry able to provide support for the whole units and parts they sell.

Norcold was founded in 1959 in California as a company focused on manufacturing specialty refrigerators for the RV and marine industries. Over decades it became one of the primary names in traditional RV absorption refrigerators, known for supplying built-in units to many RV brands

Dometic traces its roots back to the 1960s when Electrolux established its leisure products division to serve the growing mobile lifestyle market. In 1968, Dometic Corporation was formed in the U.S., building on Electrolux’s absorption refrigeration technology for RVs and boats.

Furrion entered the RV appliance market in 2007 and quickly became a notable name in RV refrigerators, air conditioners, electronics, and other lifestyle products. Today it operates as a Lippert brand (acquired by Lippert Components, Inc.), which has expanded Furrion’s reach and resources. The brand blends modern design with energy-efficient technologies tailored to mobile and outdoor living.
